The Three Caballeros was the first Walt Disney attended to combine animation and live-action actors since the 1920's "Alice Comedies".

This animated package is made of 4 short movies:

• "The Cold-Blooded Penguin": Pablo Penguin flees, the cold for a tropical isle and then misses the winter
• "The Flying Gauchito": about a racing donkey with wings
• "Baia": Donald Duck and Jose Carioca go to Baia, Brazil, and dance the samba
• "La Pinata": Donald learns of Las Posadas, the children's procession before Christmas, and find friendly shelter and the breaking of the pinata

The world premiere was in Mexico City on December 21, 1944.

This movie was re-released into theaters in an abridged version in 1977.

It has been rumored to be the follow-up to Saludos Amigos, though Walt Disney stated he did not believe in sequels.

The Three Caballeros was nominated for Best Score and Best Sound at the 1946 Academy Awards.
